Working with a palette and brief like this is a dream for any UK Animation Studio. A quick job, and a quick turnaround, for a series of iPlayer promos working with BBC Creative. Having worked on the Cbeebies app campaign in the summer, we were asked to build a set of 3D transitions for this campaign based on the rainbows that are used in the Cbeebies visuals. Cue lots of fun with bouncing bugs, animating hearts and lots of sparkles.
The promo’s had to be built in template form to allow the BBC to drop footage in behind the 3D worlds. We also worked on a bit of rotoscoping of the characters, meaning we could double layer the content by introducing iPlayer footage into the devices they held.
