As part of the Studio North brand ‘refresh’, Studio North approached us to help them add some movement and life to their new look. It was an amazing brief where we were encouraged to push the boundaries.
A little look into the process behind the project. The first port for this kind of creative involves moodboards, sketches and tests. You can see here a few of the pieces we used as inspiration. Following this we started to build the 3D. You can see here some of the storyboards and early tests for the Art/Balloon piece above. The textures and dynamics of the piece evolved a lot from this stage.
This next stage is always fun, where we start to test out the movement. This initial test for the Art approach (the balloons) wasn’t a million miles away from the final piece we delivered. On the right we have some of the early animatics for the flowers animation. A complex piece that required some careful choreography.
